Delight for Teachers' Tables!
Summer is wrapping up and the back-to-school season is here for many of us. I have to admit this is always a hard goodbye for me. I like the more flexible summer schedule and everyone being around the house. With that said, I'm grateful for the teachers, professors, and schools that have supported my children over the years. I cannot believe my youngest is starting her Senior year! Please check on me in June!
Earlier this year, I wrote about a meal that our neighbors had waiting for us when we returned from a long trip. Coming home to an easy dinner was very appreciated and it fed our tired bodies for several days! In response to that post, my daughter's 5th grade teacher, Dawn Terrell, wrote and shared with me a time when she was blessed by a meal.
One of my favorite meals came as a pleasant surprise at the end of a long day of teaching. I am a 5th grade teacher, and my students do a major project each year that involves a long day of presentations, speeches, walking, and talking. I don't think I sat down but once all day! At the end of the school day, when a parent came to pick up her child, she had a meal in a box for me all ready to go - lasagna (I just had to pop in the oven), a nice garden salad, and some delicious garlic bread. So simple, yet so appreciated and needed! It lifted my spirits and energy! It also made me feel supported as a teacher!
Other times when a meal would really be appreciated by a teacher are the beginning of the school year, the holidays, and the end of the school year. Probably, there isn't a wrong time to show your support by making one weeknight dinner easier!

I can't write about back-to-school without mentioning our other scheduling site, Perfect Potluck. Perfect Potluck makes planning food for school gatherings and events as easy as a paper sign up sheet and only takes minutes to set up.
I must end this post with one of my favorite photos from the summer since we will still have many warm days to enjoy for a while even though some of our schedules will look a little different.
