Thank you for signing up to provide a meal at either one or both of our Houses. After a long day at the hospital our families look forward to a hot meal waiting for them. By coming into one of our Houses and cooking a meal for our families you can help relieve one more burden that our families have.

Signing Up:
If you're registering as a group (e.g., work or church group), please enter your group's name in the "First Name" field and the main contact person's name in the "Last Name" field. This will ensure that your entire group receives the appropriate credit, not just a single individual.
Meal Preparation:
Please bring ingredients to prepare a meal for 35 people. If you are preparing a meal for both houses, please bring enough for 70 people.
*Please note that if you are serving meals at both houses, we ask that you prepare the meal at RMH near Blank Children's Hospital and then deliver it to our House inside of MercyOne. Also, please ensure you list your group name under each House on the specified date.
Sign-In:
-Upon arrival, please sign in using Lobby Guard. Have your ID with you. If you encounter any issues, our house manager on duty will assist you.
Equipment and Ingredients:
-We provide all necessary tools and equipment on-site. We also have a variety of spices and seasonings on hand. You are asked to bring the following: fresh produce, meats, unique spices, and any other recipe-specific items. If you'd like for us to check if there are extra canned or dry goods that are available for use, please reach out to us.
Packaging Requirements:
-All ingredients must be in their original packaging and sealed due to health safety regulations and RMHC Global Guidelines. This means homemade items cannot be accepted.
Preparing a meal at RMH Near Blank
-You can park in our parking lot; however, we ask that you save the spots near the house for our families.
-If you need help unloading ingredients, please let our staff know and we can provide wagons/carts to assist you.
Preparing a meal at RMH inside of Mercy
-Located on the 4th floor in the Main Tower. You can enter through the main tower entrance
-There are lots of parking spots near the Main Tower entrance. If you need help unloading ingredients, please call the house (515-274-0700) and someone can meet you down by the main entrance, and staff can help you unload the ingredients.

How many people can I have in my group?
Due to the size of our kitchen, we can accommodate groups of up to ten (10) volunteers. If your group exceeds this number, please contact us to make special arrangements.
Can my kids help too?
We ask that all volunteers be at least 10 years old.
How many people do I need to cook for?
Please bring ingredients to prepare a meal for 35 people. If you are preparing a meal for both houses, please bring enough for 50 people.
What if I want to come before 3 p.m. to cook or prepare dinner?
You can come in early; however, please confirm the kitchen is available for your group's desired time.
What should I make?
We want you to have fun, be creative, and enjoy yourself. There is no need to worry about food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Can I still be a meal provider even if I cannot come in and make a meal?
Yes, if you do not feel comfortable volunteering at the house or are not able to come in and make a meal, you can order a catered meal and have it delivered. For questions on ordering food for the House to be delivered, please contact us to set up delivery options and the process.You can also give a gift card or a monetary donation to help with the cost of food.
We suggest supporting a small business such as Gateway Market, Taproom, Molly's Cupcakes, Jethro's, etc. Items that will hold well and can be reheated would be extremely helpful.
What if I cannot make my scheduled date?
Please contact us and let us know the date you were planning on coming in and let us know that you are no longer able to make it.
