Notes from Valerie Donahue:
Cumberland Youth & Family Services meal schedule for their Wednesday night Journeys group, serving 11 resilient single-parent families and their children is below. Journeys is a weekly class for their single parents that covers budgeting, parenting, and career/education skills. You will be serving a family style dinner for 9-11 adults and 12-18 children ages 2-14. This is a recurring volunteer opportunity. Journeys Night Meal volunteers play an important role in helping ensure their families receive a warm, welcoming meal, modeling healthy family dinners instead of take-out or fast food.
For drop-off, meals can be delivered at 6:30 to Stricklen Hall, located on Barnard Street west of our 909 Greenlee address. There isn't a street address, but it is clearly marked. I'm also happy to share my contact info with volunteers when they arrive on campus. If a volunteer needs to drop off their meal before 6:30, we can make accommodations to keep them warm, provided we know in advance.
You are welcome to share my info with your congregation and volunteers:
